IRISH LABOUR HISTORY SITES

Ireland and the Spanish Civil War - A regularly updated site, with links to primary and seconday source material relating to Irish involvement in the Spanish civil war - both the Republican and Nationalist sides.

The Limerick Soviet, 1919 - Liam Cahill's book on the Limerick soviet, available online.

 Irish Labour History Society - Established in 1973 the ILHS is the most active labour history society in Ireland. It produces a yearly journal, Saothar, and hosts numerous talks and conferences during the year.

James Connolly Society of Canada and the United States
- . A comprehensive site relating to James Connolly: his life, work, and influence. Updated regularly.

Radical, Labor and Leftist Irish History - A website containing links to articles on left-wing Irish history. Last updated October 2003 and as a result some links are dead, but many are still active.

BRITISH LABOUR HISTORY SITES

Society for the Study of Labour History - Founded in 1960, the society is the principal organisation dedicated to the study of labour history. The site is regularly updated with upcoming events and conferences. The society also produces the labour journal, Labour History Review.

London Socialist Historians Group - The group was formed in 1993 to promote discussion of new socialist approaches to history. holds regular meetings and produces a newsletter about three times a year.

North East Labour History Society - Founded in 1967 the North East Labour History Society is Britain's oldest regional labour history society. It is dedicated to the study of working people's history in the region, particularly during the modern period.

North West Labour History Group -
Britain's most active labour history society which holds regular events and publishes an annual journal.

Socialist History Society - The Socialist History Society was founded in 1992. Its members include many of Britain's leading socialist and labour historians, both academic and amateur. The SHS holds regular events, public meetings and one-off conferences, and contributes to current historical debates and controversies. The society produces a range of publications, including the journal Socialist History. It can sometimes assist with individual student research.

INTERNATIONAL LABOUR HISTORY SITES

International Institute of Social History - The institute is situated in Amsterdam and was founded in 1935. The Institute is one of the world's largest documentary and research institutions concerning social history, and especially the history of the labour movement.

International Association of Labour history Institutions - The International Association of Labour History Institutions (IALHI) brings together archives, libraries, document centres, museums and research institutions specializing in the history and theory of the labour movement from all over the world.
